Welcome message from the Vice President for IUHPE/EURO - Professionals from different sectors are needed
As we all know, health is determined by everyday conditions and human interactions, ways of life and choices. We are also aware, that health promotion as well as health related and many other issues in general are increasingly global. So it is a challenge to understand what is needed in terms of research, policy and practice to make sure that the future is better and more equal for health between and among different populations and population groups.

The International Union for Health Promotion and Education (IUHPE) is a global non-governmental organisation, whose mission is to promote health and wellbeing by advancing theoretical knowledge, professional skills, effective practises and high quality research in health promotion. The 8th IUHPE European Conference is one of the IUHPE’s and in particular its European Region’s main activities, offering professionals from different sectors and levels of society from various countries the opportunity to exchange ideas on health development in the European Region and the Southern Mediterranean Rim.

In order to ensure the participation of all professionals who are interested in this conference and to give everyone the possibility to influence health promotion activities in our region we have decided with our Italian colleagues to extend the abstract submission deadline to May 19th. On behalf of the IUHPE/EURO I have the pleasure to invite you to this conference in the beautiful city of Turin and to join the multicultural health promotion family.

Mika Pyykkö
Vice President for IUHPE/EURO
